DURBIN, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say no one was injured in an elevator fire in the small southeast North Dakota town of Durbin, but firefighters battling the blaze in the early morning hours Tuesday also had to battle cold weather.

Casselton Fire Chief Tim McLean tells WDAY-TV that firefighters from four area towns took shifts in the sub-zero temperatures after being called to the scene about 1:30 a.m. The cause of the fire was not immediately determined.

The elevator handles sunflower seeds, which fire officials say can be flammable because of dust and because of the oil in the seeds.

Authorities say the fire started in a cleaner and moved to a dust collector and a grain bin.
