FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A council member with the Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo says two pastors arrested on suspicion of drunk driving will keep their jobs.

The Rev. Kristopher Gorden and the Rev. Jeffery Sandgren were arrested in Fargo early Thursday morning after police say Gorden got stuck in a snow bank and Sandgren stopped to help him out.

The Forum reports that the church council and officials with the Eastern North Dakota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America met with the pastors Thursday night.

Council member Ann Burnett told the newspaper they talked about forgiveness and not about resignations.

The council said in a statement that it supports the pastors, church staff, and congregation.
