SD man pleads guilty to sex crime in ND
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A 63-year-old man from South Dakota has admitted trying to arrange a meeting with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl in North Dakota for sex.
Michael Novotny of Rosholt, S.D., pleaded guilty to a charge of luring minors by computer, which carries a minimum punishment of a year in prison. A sentencing date was not immediately set.
The Forum reports that Novotny had exchanged texts with a Fargo police detective posing as a teenage girl and had planned to meet her at a Fargo restaurant.
