Card game results in assault in Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Fargo police say Police a man upset that his girlfriend and a friend were playing cards when he didn't want to play allegedly assaulted them both, knocking the woman unconscious.

The Forum reports that 28-year-old Kevin Leigh Martin Jr. was arrested Thursday on suspicion of aggravated domestic violence.

Police say the woman and friend wanted to play cards after dinner, but Martin didn't want to and became upset when they started playing.

Martin allegedly began to punch the 38-year-old male friend. When Martin's 26-year-old girlfriend tried to stop him, he allegedly punched her in the head, causing her to lose consciousness.

The woman was taken to a Fargo hospital.

Police say alcohol appeared to be a factor in the incident.
