Plane makes highway landing near Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — The pilot of a small plane landed on an interstate exit ramp west of Jamestown on Thursday when poor visibility forced him out of the air.

Pat Williams is flying the single-engine two-seater from Minneapolis to Oregon.

He told KSJB radio that he first thought he'd have to land on Interstate 94 but then spotted the westbound exit ramp at Windsor.

Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser says a motorist witnessed the landing and notified authorities.
