FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A Walcott man injured in a massive pileup on Interstate 94 in southeast North Dakota during a snow storm has died.

The Forum newspaper reports that 50-year-old Lowell Balk died Monday at a Fargo hospital. Boulger Funeral Home confirmed the death.

The Highway Patrol says Balk was struck by a vehicle after he left his semitrailer to help other motorists during the pileup last Thursday that involved about 100 vehicles.
