Busy Fourth for fire dept.

Journal Staff

This year’s Fourth of July celebrations around the region went off without any major incidents, though the Devils Lake Volunteer Fire Department kept pretty busy.

Firefighters provided an assist to medical personnel and police in a rollover crash on Hwy. 2  at about 2:29 p.m. Tuesday afternoon near Ackerman Acres. At least one person was injured in that crash, though conditions of the injured are not known at this time.

After responding to several grass fires caused by fireworks over the past week, firefighters were dispatched to the sites of two separate dumpster fires Tuesday night. One was put out in Sunset Park, while another dumpster was found ablaze about an hour later on 5th Ave. SE.

DLVFD reports little to no damage and no injuries in connection to the fires.
