Car Wars: 30K worth of damage reported

Police say that several juveniles, ranging in age from 12 to 14 years old, did an estimated $30,000 worth of damage to vehicles at the Car Wars event near Roosevelt Park early Friday morning.

Seven vehicles parked at Roosevelt Park overnight reportedly had windows broken out and other damage. Nine vehicles at the Chrysler dealership across the street from Roosevelt Park were reportedly keyed.

Police also report that some of the juveniles allegedly broke into a concession stand and stole various items.

Three male juveniles and four female juveniles are in custody.

The charges include counts of felony burglary and criminal mischief.

Man found snoozing in car in stranger’s garage

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Dept. reports that a man has been arrested after allegedly falling asleep in a car in a garage in rural Ramsey County.

Authorities say that 19-year-old Dawson Scott reportedly attempted to break into the home, which was reported to police at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Unsuccessful in his attempt to get into the home, Scott allegedly found his way into the garage and into the victim’s vehicle.

Scott was arrested for criminal trespass and minor in consumption. A court date has not yet been set.

Truck reported stolen

The Sheriff’s Dept. also reports that a 1997 light blue and white Ford F250 was reportedly stolen between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday morning. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 662-0739. Calls may be anonymous.
