Six Firebirds compete at state track meet

Devils Lake was well represented at the state track meet in Bismarck over the weekend. Six Firebirds competed in a total of 13 events.
Erin Nelson took fifth place in the shot put with a throw of 38-09.00, 12th in the discuss (106-07) and 14th in the javelin (107-10).
Beth Alexander ran a 26.36 in the 200-meter dash prelims, finishing tenth and one spot out of the finals. She ran a 46.96 in the prelims of the 300-meter hurdles to qualify for the finals, where she ran a 47.45 to finish ninth. Alexander finished tied for 11th in the high jump, clearing 4-09.00. She took 18th in the triple jump with a top mark of 33-01.50.
Amber Gathman finished 10th in the discus with a throw of 110-10.
Ramsey Brown ran a 5:50.87 in the 1600 meter to finish 27th.
Bradley Davidson ran a 11.38 in the 100-meter prelims to finish eighth and qualify for the finals. In the finals, Davidson ran a 11.31 to place sixth.
Davidson ran a 23.10 in the 200-meter dash to finish 18th in the prelims. In the 400-meter dash prelims, Davidson finished 17th with a time of 52.18.
Zach Dahlen finished 12th in the triple jump with a top mark of 41-01.00.
