Body pulled from Sheyenne River
NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. (AP) — Authorities are working to identify a body recovered from the Sheyenne River.
Eddy County Sheriff Paul Lies told KQDJ radio that a dive rescue team from Jamestown recovered the female body Tuesday afternoon but it has not been positively identified. He says foul play is suspected and an autopsy is being conducted.
Lies said that multiple law enforcement agencies are involved in the investigation.
WDAZ-TV and KFGO radio report that officials are working to determine whether the body is a Halstad, Minnesota, woman who went missing last fall, and whose vehicle was driven by two suspects in a string of robberies in Minnesota and North Dakota.
