Community clothes give-away coming Tuesday
Local agencies team up each year to provide free clothing for residents of Devils Lake and the larger Lake Region Community. This year the Community Clothes Give-away is going to be held on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Normally held in October, Janet Hannesson said they thought this year they would hold it before school starts and see how it goes.
Hannesson works with the Self Sufficiency Program at the Dakota Prairie Community Action Agency. She says the DPCAA, the Lake Region District Health Unit and the Salvation Army have offered this service to the community for over 20 years.
There will be clothing, including shoes, for adults, teens and children available as well as some household items and all are free of charge.
The giveaway begins at 9 a.m. and goes until 1 p.m. and it is open to the public.
If anyone has gently used, like-new or new items they would like to donate, those items can be brought to the Memorial Building on Monday as volunteers from R.S.V.P. and the community will be busy setting up
