Mandan resident Jennifer Holle has been named the 2014 Northwest Region Farm Mom of the Year. There are four others who also have this designation from their regions.

Now the Five regional winners have been announced online and from now until May 6, the public can go online and vote daily for which regional winner will become the new 2014 National Farm Mom!  Here is the website:

Holle is a partner in Northern Lights Dairy, a 600-cow dairy. As calf operations manager, her research and skills have prompted new protocols, including automated feeders and technologies attributing to healthier calves and zero mortality rates.

The dairy supplies area farmers with healthy bull calves, and one-fourth of the milk for the Land O’ Lakes Bismarck plant. She also manages hiring, work visas and worker training.

Jen actively promotes the dairy and milk consumption in local, state and international communities. She’s provided chocolate milk to Bismarck Marathon race finishers, coordinated “Breakfast on the Farm” for over 2,000 visitors, spoken with local politicians and dignitaries, and coordinated the dairy’s Mandan Rodeo Days Parade entries. She often speaks in classrooms and at Ag Shows, and her recent “From the Farm to the Fork” program thrilled 1,400 fourth graders. Jen co-chairs the American Dairy Association District 3 and the Dairy Promotions Board, and is a Midwest Dairy Association Dairy Farm Moms member.

In addition to taking her four children to sports, scouts, 4-H, piano lessons and church activities, she then finds energy to work with Rescue Dogs. She’s also active on Twitter and Facebook, and writes her own blog at
