High speed chase ends in Devils Lake

A high speed chase that started in Ward County ended at 3:59 a.m. Friday morning just outside of Devils Lake.

The Ramsey County States Attorney reports that two women are in custody and that a child was in the vehicle with them during the altercation.

A Devils Lake Police Officer was injured in the attempt to stop the fleeing vehicle.

The Devils Lake Police Department reports that it is a multi-jurisdictional investigation that will close Highway 19 for several hours today as officials from the Bureau of Crime Investigation (BCI) and all the other agencies involved piece together what happened.

Meanwhile motorists are asked to detour around the site using Walleye Drive and Ramsey County No. 1.
