Edith, daughter of Theodore and Lena (Helland) Tweeten was born on September 21, 1919 on the farm, rural Southam, N.D. She was reared and educated in Southam and Lakota.
Edith was united in marriage to Raymond L. Gibson on February 28, 1942 and they established their home in Garske, N.D. where Ray worked as a mechanic and was the owner and operator of Gibson Trucking and Son. Edith’s priority was always her family. She was a foster parent to many children over the years and she and Ray felt truly blessed when they adopted their sons, Raymond and Robert. Edith stayed in Garske for a couple of years, then moved into Devils Lake. She moved to Bismarck a year ago to be closer to family.
Edith was never idle and loved to bake and share her delicious creations with family and friends. She definitely had a “green thumb” and lovingly cared for many, many plants through the years.
