BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Favorable weather has helped advance harvesting progress across North Dakota.

The Agriculture Department says in its weekly crop and weather report that barley was 99 percent turning and 58 percent harvested as of Sunday. Durum wheat was 96 percent in the milk stage, 82 percent turning and 13 percent harvested.

Wheal and canola were also making progress.

The report noted that 74 percent of the corn crop has reached the dough stage, behind 93 percent at this point last year but ahead of the five-year 70-percent average.

Temperatures were above normal statewide, and precipitation was above normal across parts of the northwest, central and southeast.
