Flooding closes several shooting ranges in ND

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Missouri River flooding this summer likely will keep some public shooting ranges closed through the fall.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department says the McLean Bottoms range south of Bismarck, the Wilton Mine range near Wilton, and the Lewis and Clark range south of Williston all are closed until further notice.

The Riverdale Wildlife Management Area range near Riverdale and the Schmidt Bottoms range south of Mandan remain open. To alleviate congestion in the Bismarck-Mandan area, Game and Fish and the Bismarck-Mandan Rifle and Pistol Association plan several public gun sight-in days over the next two months at the club's shooting range near Moffit.
