North Dakota State Fair to go on despite flooding

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Officials say this year's North Dakota State Fair will be held as scheduled in Minot but without competitive exhibits because of Souris River flooding.

Fair Manager Renae Korslien says the concerts, carnival and commercial exhibits will continue as planned during the fair July 22-30. She says dikes have kept the grandstand and the State Fair Center dry but other buildings have been impacted so there will be no competitive exhibits this year.

Korslien says the fair also will have food vendors and free stages as normal but other details are still being worked out.
