MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A lack of water in some areas is causing problems in flooded Minot.

Water main breaks related to Souris River flooding have cut off the water supply to some areas. Residents are being urged to conserve water.

National Guard Sgt. 1st Class David Dodds tells The Associated Press that nearly 150 evacuees staying at the Minot Municipal Auditorium were moved to a shelter at the Minot State University Dome when the auditorium lost water Tuesday.

The Guard is bringing two dozen water purification units to Minot.

The Minot Daily News reports that construction on a temporary water line from a Northwest Area Water Supply pipeline to a main bringing water to a tower in the northern part of Minot is to be completed Wednesday to help ease the water shortage.
