MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say a woman had to be rescued when she drove her vehicle into Souris River floodwaters in Minot.

Police tell KXMC-TV that the woman was allegedly driving drunk and trying to get to Bingo at a bar. She was not immediately identified.

North Dakota National Guard Sgt. 1st Class David Dodds tells The Associated Press that the incident happened just before midnight Sunday.

He says the Guard gave local firefighters and police officers a 5-ton dump truck vehicle to take out into the water to rescue the woman.

Dobbs says the water was over the wheels of the woman's vehicle.
