Tour of Devils Lake flood cut short when buses get stuck

Staff reports
While taking a tour of the flooded Lake Region, two buses became stuck in the middle of this road near Crary.

The "Devils Lake Solutions" tour, sponsored by the North Dakota Water Education Foundation, was held earlier this week.

On Wednesday, two tour buses loaded with local officials, interested residents and guests set out to see first-hand the devastation caused by the rising of Devils?Lake.

Unfortunately, the tour was cut short when the buses became stuck on a gravel road north of Crary.

Jeff Frith, Manager of the Devils?Lake Basin Joint Water Board, said the rain earlier in the week had made the roads impassable. He also noted that the situation is something residents of the basin have to deal with on a day-to-day basis.
