MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Actor Josh Duhamel encouraged donations to the Red Cross as his hometown of Minot prepared Thursday for even higher flows from the Souris River.

Interviewed in Moscow on the television show "Entertainment Tonight," Duhamel said he was thinking of friends and family in Minot and going online to monitor the flooding and evacuations.

In a Twitter post, Duhamel said, "My heart goes out to all the incredible people of Minot and surrounding areas."

He said fans who want to help should donate to the Minot Red Cross. Duhamel said he wants to organize a fund raiser for the organization later this year.

He was attending the Moscow Film Festival and the world premiere of his latest movie, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."
