JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — About 100 people from across the country are taking a trip across the North Dakota prairie the old-fashioned way.

The 42nd annual Fort Seward Wagon Train this week is taking participants about 50 miles on wagons, on horses and even on foot. The ride will go to the town of Woodworth, which is celebrating its centennial this weekend.

This is the 25th year that Tom Atkinson of East Troy, Wis., has taken part. He tells The Jamestown Sun that taking a ride into the past is a great family vacation.
