Town worried about golf carts on city streets

SOUTH HEART, N.D. (AP) — Some people in the southwestern North Dakota town of South Heart want golf carts off city streets.

The city has received complaints about the number of children driving the carts. Some say the increased truck traffic from the oil boom makes the situation especially dangerous.

City Councilman Chuck Andrus says the council is considering an ordinance, but is first looking into ways that other communities control golf cart traffic.

Andrus tells the Dickinson Press an exception might be made for adults driving carts to the nearby Pheasant Country Golf Course.
