Officials urge courtesy at busy boat ramps

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — With high water across the state, access to some of North Dakota's fisheries has become difficult. State wildlife officials are urging patience and courtesy at boat ramps.

The state Game and Fish Department says it takes complaints every year about aggressive behavior at boat ramps. The agency is offering tips on its website at for launching and loading boats.

Tips include such measures as preparing for launch away from the ramp, and not blocking the loading area with a boat until the tow vehicle is ready.
