Judge allowing evidence in big ND drug bust

DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota district judge is refusing to throw out evidence against two out-of-state men who authorities say were caught in the Dickinson area with about 50 pounds of marijuana.

Defense attorneys for Arturas Teras of Clear Lake, Calif., and Donatas Jasiulionis (duh-NAWT'-uhs JAZ'-ee-oo-lee-AWN'-uhs) argued that a November 2009 search by a Highway Patrol officer with a drug-sniffing dog was not warranted. The Dickinson Press reports that Judge William Herauf this week disagreed.

The two suspects allegedly were en route from Washington state to Chicago when they were stopped for speeding in southwest North Dakota.
