Red River drops below flood stage at Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The Red River has dropped below flood stage at Fargo after a record 77 days above it.

WDAY-TV reports that the river dropped below 18 feet Monday afternoon, after being above the flood stage mark for nearly three months. It reached flood stage on March 29 and crested at 38.75 feet on April 9, the fourth-highest flood on record in Fargo.

The previous record of 61 days above flood stage in Fargo was set in 2009.
