FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A bank is sponsoring the renovation of an auditorium on the North Dakota State University campus in a project officials say might be a sign of things to come.

The Forum newspaper reports that Gate City Bank is providing $400,000 for the renovation of Stevens Auditorium and another $100,000 to establish an endowment to keep it maintained in the future. University vice president Bruce Bollinger says it's the first corporate-sponsored classroom renovation on the main NDSU campus.

NDSU first used business donations to finance some classrooms and an auditorium in downtown Fargo.
