FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A heavily used bridge over Interstate 29 in north Fargo has been closed because of a sinkhole at the base of the overpass.

Public Works maintenance supervisor Lee Anderson tells The Forum newspaper that traffic is being detoured away from the Seventh Avenue North overpass because of the sinkhole that is 2 feet deep and 3 feet wide.

State Transportation officials are deciding what repairs are needed. The Forum reports that the overpass could be closed most of the week.
