MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Trinity Health in Minot is evacuating 231 residents of Trinity Homes because of the rising Souris River.

President and Chief Executive Officer John Kutch says the move is precautionary, to ensure the safety of nursing home residents in the event of a dike breach.

The residents are being taken to 26 health facilities around North Dakota.

Trinity Hospital itself remains open.
