BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota wildlife officials have a message for snowmobile riders — steer clear of wildlife.

The Game and Fish Department is reminding snowmobilers that it's illegal to use the machines to flush, chase or pursue wild animals in North Dakota.

Officials also say snowmobiles that inadvertently come too close to animals and their habitat can add further stress to wildlife already under the stress of winter.
