Wintry mix of precipitation hits Dakotas

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is putting a damper on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday in parts of the Dakotas.

The National Weather Service says a winter weather advisory is in effect Monday for much of the two states.

Not much snow is expected, but some areas could see blowing snow and icy conditions. North Dakota's Transportation Department issued a travel alert for motorists in the southwest and southeast portions of the state through the morning.
