BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Basin Electric Power Cooperative says its new power transmission line in northwestern North Dakota has been energized.

The 61-mile line connects electric substations at Williston and Tioga. Basin says it cost $26.5 million to build.

The Bismarck-based company says construction on the project started last year and was completed this week.

Basin Electric supplies power to rural electric co-ops in several states.
