AG says school board meeting violated law
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says the school board in the central North Dakota town of Wilton violated the state's open meetings law last year when it didn't provide proper notice of telephone calls involving board members and the school superintendent.
Stenehjem also cleared the board of several other allegations of meeting violations.
He ordered the board to provide a copy of minutes from the May 2010 telephone call meeting.
Stenehjem's opinion says the telephone calls between the superintendent and individual board members involved votes on whether to release a teacher from a contract.
