Chris Holte sworn in as new Devils Lake police officer

Devils Lake Police Chief Keith Schroeder swears in new officer Chris Holte Tuesday morning at the Law Enforcement Center.

Chris Holte is the newest member of the Devils Lake Police Department.

Holte was officially sworn in Tuesday morning at the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center by Police Chief Keith Schroeder.

The 27-year-old is a graduate of Oak Grove High School in Fargo and the Lake Region Peace Officer Training Program at Lake Region State College.

He also worked on-line one year for a criminal justice degree.

“We’re happy to have him,” Schroeder said Tuesday before swearing Holte in.

Holte was among 12 people who were interviewed for the job from a group of 40 applicants.

Holte spent the previous year as a policeman in Mayville.

This is the second job in the career of the young law enforcment officer.
