Slade Haman

Friends and family of little Slade Haman are rallying around the seven-month old youngster.

He is the son of Cara Haman and Chad Mulfinger, and the grandson of Jerome Haman of Devils Lake and Vicki Campbell.

Slade has auto immune hemolytic anemia, a blood disorder that prevents him from producing his own red blood cells.

There’s a steak fry and silent auction fundraiser scheduled for Aug. 21 at Lotta’s starting at 5 p.m. and running until the food is gone.

“We’ve had Slade in for lots of tests, but apparently there’s no direct cause,” says Cara, his mother.

“He was diagnosed July 17, and was life-flighted from Merit Care to the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital in Fairfield.”

Cara said doctors are checking Slade’s blood levels two or three times a week.

He has a blood clot in a leg and his blood does apparently clot often. He’s taking shots twice a day and coumadin - a blood thinner.

His mother says Slade is also taking steroids and other drugs in the effort to stabilize his condition.

Slade has a couple of older brothers - Cole and Caedon Stoll.

If unable to attend the fundraiser, donations can also be sent to: Union State Bank 4530 17th Avenue South, Fargo, N.D., 58103, in care of Slade Haman Benefit.
