Flooding to be topic of Congressman Pomeroy’s visit
Congressman Earl Pomeroy will be in the Devils Lake area today to discuss flooding.
His visit will begin this morning with a tour of the new construction at Camp Grafton and a meeting with camp officials to discuss their issues with Devils Lake flooding. Efforts are in the process of being made at the camp to protect eroding shoreline.
Last week the ND?National Guard spent three days training for flood response. It is expected the Guard will be an essential element again this year in fighting flooding state-wide as spring approaches.
At 1 p.m. the congressman will meet with Ramsey County and Devils Lake city officials in the basement meeting room of the Ramsey County Courthouse with the same item on the agenda - flooding.
Pomeroy sits on the House Ways and Means Committee and the Agriculture Committee. He has served in Congress since 1992.
