Community corn feed slated for Thursday in local park

What could be better than fresh deep-fried walleye, cole slaw and fresh-picked corn on the cob dipped in melted butter?
All spring and summer hard-working volunteers have spent hours fileting and cutting up walleye caught at the many local fishing tournaments to save them for this special community event.
In past years this event was held in Ruger Park, however last year was the first year it was held in Roosevelt Park in the Bill Jerome Arena. That cut down on the interferences of wind, potentially cold weather and visiting yellow jackets.
Therefore, this year’s will again be held in the arena.
Sponsored by the Devils Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, the event is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 27 to begin at 4 p.m. and to go until they run out of food.
There is a free will donation asked for the meal.
