Spirit Lake Tribal Chairman Roger Yankton thanks Peggy L. Cavanaugh for her hard work and dedication to improving health care services for the tribe.

From its humble beginnings in the former comodities distribution building near Sioux Manufacturing to a shiny new building located in part of the tribe’s buffalo pasture, east of town, the new EMS facility for all of Spirit Lake was dedicated Wednesday in a ceremony which included a ribbon cutting, visits from helicopter life flight service providers and top IHS personnel from Aberdeen, SD.

It was Spirit Lake’s opportunity to thank everyone who has helped provide services for the community along the way especially Peggy L. Cavanaugh, Spirit Lake Tribal Health Administrator for all her hard work and dedication.

The plaques say “We witness actions of vision; the fulfillment of a dream and the opportunity of “New Beginnings.” The Spirit Lake Tribe EMS Services share our deepest appreciation for contributions made to assist in making this endeavor a reality for the improvement in quality of health care services for the Oyate of Spirit Lake Nation.”
