North Star should again be one of the teams to beat this fall in Class B girls high school volleyball.

The Bearcats had just three graduation losses on last year's team that was third in the region, but one of them was veteran setter Mckenzie Beck.

Courtney Miller, Brittney Held and Caitlin Holien are other key returning players for the Bearcats.

Minnewaukan-Leeds was 3-3 in District 8 last year and 12-15 overall and will return a solid core of players.

Sisters Allison and Ashley Manley are scoring threats for the Raiders, and Breanna Stone will be another key figure.

McKenzie Hart and Breanna Mack of Langdon will be other players to watch.

In District 7, Brooke Calderwood of Lakota will be counted upon to help her team rebound from a winless year in the district and 5-21 mark overall.

Wells County, Harvey and New Rockford-Sheyenne all earned over  20 victories last season.

Harvey again figures to be a power in the district, while New Rockford-Sheyenne was hit hard by graduation.
