Shooting Starz places 14 wrestlers in the 2018 USA Wrestling ND State Folkstyle Tournament

Shooting Starz traveled to the Bismarck Civic Center to compete in ND State Folkstyle Tournament that was held on March 23rd and 24th.

Devils Lake Shooting Starz traveled to Bismarck, ND to compete in the 2018 USA Wrestling, ND State Folkstyle tournament at the Bismarck Civic Center on March 23rd & 24th.

On the boys side of the tournament they brought 28 wrestlers to compete against 62 teams along with a total of 915 wrestlers. With plenty of matches occuring the Shooting Starz program managed to place 11 wrestlers. They included: Hudson Hodous (1st), Will Sprenger (2nd), Brayden Gerhardt (2nd), Ethan Sprenger (3rd), Ty Volk (4th), Amiri Francis (4th), Brant Fisk (4th), Wesley Fisk (5th), Casey Brown (5th), Rylan Samuelson (5th), Owen Lindstrom (6th). Other participants included: Ever Fitch, Jackson Fitch, Brayden Owlboy, Vera Owlboy, Christian Fitch, Colton Young, Leah Pederson, Max Volk, Chase Weber, Zane Bennett, Phoenix Foote, Tate Estenson and Jenna Gerhardt.

The Civic Center also hosted a girls portion of the tournament. With the Starz bring three they competed alongside with 20 teams with 43 wrestlers. All placed for the Starz and they were: Jenna Gerhardt (1st), Leah Pederson (1st) and Vera Owlboy (3rd).

An awesome turn out that’s developing into a habit for success is credited to coaches and individuals that continue to help out with the program, as they look to keep pushing each wrestler to improve beyond their own abilities.
