Pond hockey on Devils Lake was very popular with skaters of all ages at ShiverFest 2016.

The 2016 ShiverFest celebration was marked by pond hockey, fishing, a 5K, a gun show, kite flying and a whole lot more.

To those who attended it looked as if participation was at an all-time high.

As the weather cooperated participants came out in droves to enjoy the sunshine, relatively calm winds and, yes, even a little mud.

The Devils Lake Volunteer Fire Department sponsored its kids ice fishing tournament.

Fire Chief Jim Moe says they had 240 kids participating and they caught the most fish than ever before - 36 fish.

Moe says one little girl caught three perch all by herself. He added “Was she ever tickled!”
