FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A Fargo-based company that sells packaging machines for pharmaceutical products has laid off nearly one-third of its work force.

Fargo Automation cites a slowdown in sales for laying off 20 employees, shrinking the company from 64 workers to 44.

Half of the cuts were full-time workers. The other half were college students who worked part-time.

Human Resources Director Jessica Petrick tells The Forum newspaper that the company hopes sales will pick up and the layoffs will be temporary.
