The NDHSCA recently announced its girls’ hockey All-State Team for the 2024-25 season.
Devils Lake had two selections in freshman goalie Delaney Parker and junior defender Julia McIvor.
In 22 games, Parker posted a save rate of 90.7%. Last year as an eighth-grader, she posted a 91.3% mark. She tallied 1,031 minutes this season and made 871 saves on 960 shots. She was one of six goalies in the state to play more than 1,000 minutes — and she had a better save percentage than two of the others.
McIvor scored five goals, the most on the team. She also had four assists to give her a team-high nine points.
It was a tough year for a young Devils Lake team, which lost all 22 games it played (one in overtime). The Firebirds graduated Ashlyn Abrahamson and Siri Olson, who were arguably the top two players, respectively, in the state last year, and who led Devils Lake to a state tournament appearance in 2024.
This year, the Firebirds will graduate three seniors. McIvor will be one of only two seniors on next year’s team. Parker, meanwhile, heads into her sophomore season having already had multiple successful varsity seasons in the net.
