Torri Fee, a senior at Devils Lake High School, has signed with the Lake Region State College volleyball team. LRSC announced the news in a press release Saturday morning.

Fee reached 1,000 career digs this past season as the Firebirds’ libero. She added 78 aces in her career, and reached 68 in both assists and kills.

“Torri is somebody who has always wanted to be the best athlete,” Devils Lake volleyball coach Megan Sylling said after Fee reached her milestone in late September. “And it’s not just volleyball; it’s every single aspect of her life.”

Fee is also a starter on the Devils Lake girls’ basketball team, which won the state tournament back in March. She’ll have one more basketball season in Firebird red before putting on the Royal blue.

“I chose Lake Region State College because right away, I felt at home,” Fee said, per the LRSC press release. “The volleyball team truly felt like an extended family, and I can’t wait to see all of the opportunities being a Royal will bring in the future.”

Fee, in the 2025 season, will be the first Devils Lake native to play on the LRSC volleyball team since 2022. Her relentless defensive skills should help a Royals squad that went 15-21 this year following two straight winning seasons.

“Torri is a fierce competitor and has a high level of athleticism. She makes big plays look very easy,” LRSC volleyball head coach Steve Waddell said, per release. “Our program has had the privilege of working with Torri in camps and in our club program for the past couple of years, and I have consistently been impressed with her court presence and work ethic. Torri is constantly looking for ways to get better, and she is truly an athlete who doesn’t settle.”

Fee and the Firebirds’ basketball team will begin their title defense on Dec. 9. That’ll be the last high school action for Fee before she joins the LRSC volleyball team next fall.

“I am excited to see where the next two years take her as a volleyball player,” Waddell said. “Above her volleyball skills, she is a great teammate, and she also excels in the classroom. Torri is another recruit that is truly what we look for in Royals volleyball players.”
