LAKOTA — Nelson County trailed 2-0.

Against a tough North Star team, the Chargers fought hard but were outmatched in the first two sets. Playing on their home court at Lakota Community Center, they steadily worked their way back into it, and eventually pulled off an incredible comeback. Nelson County (6-3, 3-1) won a tight fifth set to beat the Bearcats (14-6, 1-2) by a final score of 3-2.

“We’ve been in five the last couple games, and we haven’t been the one to pull through,” Nelson County head coach Taylor Sand said. “So it really feels good to mentally hold it together on the court and make that change at the end of the game.”
