Devils Lake girls’ golf wrapped up the East/West Classic in Jamestown on Tuesday, holding steady in 20th place out of 21 teams.

Following Monday’s action, which the Firebirds finished with a score of +140, they posted a +154 on Tuesday for a combined total of +294. West Fargo Sheyenne, previously in second place, took over Grand Forks Red River (+70) for the top spot (+59). Devils Lake beat Grand Forks Central (+329).

All six Devils Lake golfers posted a personal-best round on Monday. Three of them posted an even better score on Tuesday.

Ava Beck, who led Devils Lake on Monday with a score of 98, finished her second round in 109 strokes on Tuesday, for a total of 207. Abby Troy (105 + 112 = 217) was second among the Firebirds. Next in line was Tylie Brodina (111 + 108 = 219).

Rounding it out were Camila Quinonez (114 + 113 = 227), Jackie Juarez (135 + 126 = 261) and Karlyn Rardon (126 + 142 = 268).

The Firebirds are now two meets and three days into their inaugural golf season. The busy late-summer schedule continues Thursday and Friday, Aug. 15 and 16, with an invitational at Bois de Sioux Golf Course in Wahpeton.
