Lake Region State College announced Steven Anderson as its new head baseball coach on Thursday.
Anderson is a native of Eagle River, Wis. He was previously the baseball coach at Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua, Wis. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and a master’s degree in sports leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
“With Steve’s background, I believe he will come in and provide leadership and be a strong role model for our student athletes,” LRSC athletic director Jared Marshall said, per a press release.
Anderson takes over for Laurence Arango, who lasted less than a year in his position. The Royals went 10-32 in his tenure, and 4-22 in conference play.
The LRSC program will be adding local athletes Beau Brodina and Parker Simon, among others, to its roster next season.
“The opportunity to lead the Royals baseball program is an honor,” Anderson said. “It is the kind of dream position for me that I could see myself being in for a very long time.”
Anderson will now lead the LRSC baseball team as it looks to rebuild the program.
