No. 4 Devils Lake girls’ basketball had a much-needed, luxurious bounceback win at home Friday evening against a region foe in Hillsboro/Central Valley. After falling to a tough Valley City team by 16 points earlier this week, the Firebirds beat the Burros 66-39. They went on a 20-0 run in the first quarter and didn’t even need their regulars after that, cruising the rest of the way to the finish line.
Devils Lake will host Four Winds/Minnewaukan next on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
Highlights
Devils Lake girls’ hockey lost on the road to Fargo Davies, 5-1. Ashlyn Abrahamson, the top goal scorer in the state, recorded the Firebirds’ lone goal. Delaney Parker had 24 saves. Devils Lake travels to East Grand Forks next for a Monday game, then will play Grand Forks at home on Tuesday. The Firebirds are in seventh place out of 12 teams with a 7-11 record.
