The Devils Lake boys’ hockey team will return to action at Burdick Arena Tuesday evening with a matchup against Fargo South/Shanley. The Firebirds have just three games left in the season.
Devils Lake has lost four in a row and sits in eighth place in the East Region with a record of 6-11-1 (3-10). Fargo South/Shanley is in fifth place at 8-9 (6-7).
The Bruins have three consistent scoring threats in seniors Jake Verwest, Sam Ovsak and Zach Skarperud. But Devils Lake goalie Brody Forsberg has a higher save percentage than Fargo South/Shanley goalie Landon Walter, at 92.2 compared to 85.8.
The game will commence at 7:30 p.m.
Highlights
Both Benson County basketball teams played on the road against Drake-Anamoose on Monday. The boys lost 53-40, while the girls won 72-43. The girls’ team sits in first place in Division B, Region 2, District 4 with a record of 13-4, 7-3, 5-0.
North Star girls’ basketball lost to Midway/Minto, 42-40, while New Rockford-Sheyenne beat Griggs-Midkota 51-28.
The weekly NDAPSSA basketball polls were released Monday, with very few changes compared to last week, especially in Division A. For more on how the polls stand, read here.

What to watch
In addition to the Devils Lake boys’ hockey game, both Devils Lake basketball teams will play Tuesday evening.
The No. 2 boys (12-1, 3-1) have a previously postponed matchup against Turtle Mountain Community (3-12, 1-1) on the road at 7:30 p.m. The No. 4 girls (11-4, 4-2) face Valley City (12-5, 7-2) at 7:15 p.m., also on the road.
Devils Lake girls’ hockey (7-9) plays as well, traveling to face Fargo North/South (14-3, 13-3) at 5:15 p.m.
No. 3 North Star boys’ basketball (13-1, 7-0, 4-0) will look to get back in the win column after losing its undefeated streak. The Bearcats play at North Prairie at 7 p.m.
Four Winds/Minnewaukan girls’ basketball (7-9, 2-5) has a region game at home against Grafton (5-10, 2-4) at 7 p.m.
