What to watch
Sunday will be a quiet day in the Lake Region sports world due to the weather-related postponements around the area. The Lake Region State College basketball teams were supposed to play at home, while the women’s hockey team was scheduled to take a road trip to Assiniboine Community College.
Action should resume on Monday with a slew of basketball games, barring any further postponements. No. 3 FW/M boys’ plays at Dunseith at 4:15 p.m., while Benson County and New Rockford-Sheyenne girls’ basketball have home games at 6 and 7 p.m., respectively.
No. 4 Devils Lake boys’ basketball, which had its Saturday game postponed, is scheduled to take on conference opponent Thompson at 7:15 p.m. on the road. The Firebirds and Tommies are two of four teams in the region with 2-1 conference records. Devils Lake, however, gets the edge with its 7-1 overall record, tied with No. 2 Grafton, which it most recently beat.
